The process

Challenge

The founder was stretched across everything — running the Sydney business, managing delivery, handling BD, and trying to simultaneously build a Melbourne presence. The Melbourne division needed a leader who could operate without a playbook, build a market from scratch, and bring the kind of commercial and operational maturity that takes years of exposure to develop. Getting it wrong wasn't an option.

Goal

Find a Director-level operator with the network, leadership experience, and drive to build the Melbourne division independently — someone who could bring structure, systems, and new clients to a market the business hadn't yet cracked.

Solution

The candidate came through a referral from within our network — someone we knew and trusted. He was active in the market, but he had four other offers on the table, all from his own connections.
